An email was sent to Fan Club members yesterday announcing that Yamapi will be making a solo appearance on Heyx3, the recording will be on Sunday June 27 and giving details to ballot for tickets. There was no mention of NEWS.

There is no official confirmation as yet to what this is about but there are rumours of a new solo single and concert tour.

thats what i was thinking too actually... bc if they film at the end of this month and dont show it until mid-july, then that would be plenty of time for them to start promoting his single.

im definitely a YamaPi fan, but honestly, Loveless didnt do that well... so maybe they should stop pushing him as a solo artist...

and TegoMasu is going strong, so fangirls blaming YamaPi's solo work for the lack of NEWS releases is ridiculous!

*End Rant* >_

Yamapi's Loveless sold only 1k less than NEWS' Sakura Girl in its first week. How is that not doing well? :\ Not that I want Yamapi to go solo because I'd much rather see him with NEWS but in terms of CD sales, Johnny isn't really losing all that much.

in terms of CD sales, tegomass is far behind either NEWS or Yamapi, but still, they get promoted more now...

Well, cd sales aren't the only way the agency makes money out of their idols, that's just how the *record labels* make the most money, I think. Plus, making money one way isn't the only *reason* why some idols get more attention than others, either.

well sakura girl was barely promoted, Loveless had full blast promos

not to mention, Pi's Loveless had three editions, with different songs on each, so there was a reason to buy all three editions....and a good old dvd as well.

Sakura Girl had two editions, with the only difference between them being a single song. No dvd at all which is usual as well I suppose for a news release, topic for another time: the sadness of not having news pvs on dvd

"Barely" is a good description for the level of promotion there was for Sakura Girl. Seriously. MS appearances and not even a full performance of the song in the week it came out... *shakes head* and that was after "waiting patiently" for eleven months.

I think pi's loveless not that bad either. .that true that his week sales not reach 200k(just 195k). .but i think its still good, because there not many male solo in japan. .and i saw at oricon last time his single almost 300k more than jin's bandage(its like 260k)in that week. .and i think its still good. .

Its not that i prefer pi to do solo. .i want NEWS too. .but i cant say that pi's solo project is failed. .his concert is very very good too and very diferent from other JE con. .

But to be honest,I want NEWS now. .its still rumour, right?how bout wait until they confirm it?i think there a little hope for us. .

Eh no the last time I checked, Loveless broke 270k. From 2ch:

2010/04/12 Single Weekly

140 185 ***,355 *,270,217 *20 山下智久 「Loveless

I think Top100-200 weekly figures aren't available to general public, so that's probably why no one posted a screencap in this comm.

I think many people are forgetting the fact that Pi's Loveless had a target demographic that was different from the typical Johnny's fan. Because Loveless sounded nothing at all like a typical Johnny's song. Many JE fans didn't flock to the single simply because it was so different, and the older half of Yamapi's fanbase probably wouldn't have been interested at all.

Jin's song did well because of the producer attached to it, plus the fact that it's tied in to a movie. Actually, all of that considered, Jin's song should have done better than it had.
