Yamapi to appear on Hey, Hey, Hey

An email was sent to Fan Club members yesterday announcing that Yamapi will be making a solo appearance on Heyx3, the recording will be on Sunday June 27 and giving details to ballot for tickets. There was no mention of NEWS.

There is no official confirmation as yet to what this is about but there are rumours of a new solo single and concert tour.

Yamapi did not make the decision, but I heard every debuted Johnnys can ASK anything they want to do to J&A ? I remember SDK episode which Tsuyoshi said that he asked Johnnys to make his own solo concert & Johnny allowed him?
I really don't know about Yamapi solo, neither we all know J&A management system. Actually I have this thought : why Yamapi didn't ask J&A to make a new single/concert for NEWS, not to fulfill his obsession of going solo? or maybe J&A that offered him to do this? for the sake of Ashita no Joe? =/

actually correct me if im wrong for last november he was the one who asked? i remember he said something like he had nothing to do so he decided to have a solo concert.

It's good seeing all these discussions on the comm, it's been so dead lately, so good thing some people can get what they want off their chests because it shows that many of us STILL CARE FOR THEM.

I'm happy to release it here too, and to be able to read other people opinion about this, me and my friends talk about it all the time in twitter cuz we miss these boys soo bad =(

I think pi's loveless not that bad either. .that true that his week sales not reach 200k(just 195k). .but i think its still good,because there not many male solo in japan. .and i saw at oricon last time his single almost 300k more than jin's bandage(its like 260k)in that week. .and i think its still good. .

Its not that i prefer pi to do solo. .i want NEWS too. .but i cant say that pi's solo project is failed. .his concert is very very good too and very diferent from other JE con. .

But to be honest,I want NEWS now. .its still rumour,right?how bout wait until they confirm it?i think there a little hope for us. .

I'm not blaming Yamapi or anything or even Tegomass because I do like individual activities, but NEWS has only done three activities all together for the last two years and it's kind of ticking me off. I'm happy for Yamapi, but I miss NEWS.

not to mention, Pi's Loveless had three editions, with different songs on each, so there was a reason to buy all three editions....and a good old dvd as well.

Sakura Girl had two editions, with the only difference between them being a single song. No dvd at all which is usual as well I suppose for a news release, topic for another time: the sadness of not having news pvs on dvd

"Barely" is a good description for the level of promotion there was for Sakura Girl. Seriously. MS appearances and not even a full performance of the song in the week it came out... *shakes head* and that was after "waiting patiently" for eleven months.

it's just sometimes I had this thought, If Ryo can go with both NewS & Kanjani8, why can't Yamapi? 8D ( and so with the rest of the members )
I believe 'solo/duo activity' is NOT an excuse for NEWS to hiatus. it's just about the time......

Well, cd sales aren't the only way the agency makes money out of their idols, that's just how the *record labels* make the most money, I think. Plus, making money one way isn't the only *reason* why some idols get more attention than others, either.

I think its too coincidented that they do the whole solo project in the near times. .
Its like they made a plan of it,and asked it to jhonny together. .while the members of their group not show how they support them. .but both of them seems really support each other,promoted each other in their solo con. .i think its a little strange. .^^. .its strange too how they always nearly said same things in their interview. .like all about their dream,how they will working hard for it. .and how they will do what they want to do. .
i sure if jin can do it. .pi will think he will do it too. .
This all begin from it. .
I dont know its true or not. .its just my observation because i am fan of both of them. .

But for group.i love NEWS. .and i miss them. .i want NEWS instead of pi himself. .

I totally agree with you that's good having a discussion and talk about them, we like them and we miss them, why shouldn't we? :)

On the other hand, I don't agree with you in what you're saying about them. Not only a lot of people around here is assuming and getting angry about this appearance in heyx3 without any "physical evidence", but you're saying Yamapi's duty is to be the groups' "mommy" (and we all know that's Koyama's role! XD).

Being a leader in a johnnys group has never been about actual "leading" (I do love the leaders, but none of them are famous for being good at it), excepts when it comes to be responsible for the group's actions (something Yamapi is actually good at). Being reassuring to the fans and making sure we know HE hasn't forgotten about NEWS, even if they have no upcoming projects, is the best he can gives us for now. I WISH it could be more, that management could get out of their asses and get NEWS as NEWS some work, but it looks like their individual management is doing a better job for them than whoever is in charge of the group stuff.

Now, whatever this is about Heyx3, Yamapi was INVITED. Heyx3 is a high profile, popular show and they get a say at who do they want on air. There are a lot of odds reasons why Yamapi was invited without a single announced, and I will stick to those reasons (in the sense that they're odd and we don't know them yet) until we know otherwise, but it's a stretch to think of a single because of this, I think (sadly, I'll be happy with one).

Two more thing and I'll stop bugging you: I do think NEWS is releasing LESS, but not releasing WORSE. Arashi's been releasing crap the last couple of years and we all know it and KAT-TUN have had crappy songs alongside very crappy PVs. They sell MORE, but they don't sell BETTER.

NEWS concerts are expensive and hard to organize, I hope they have one soon enough, but I understand why TegoMass and Yamapi are maybe more convenient right now.

I agree with you both! Happy to find fans that can keep their hopes up ^o^ We are NEWS fans, we *should* be high spirited and hard working by default! XD

We can wait a little longer and in the meanwhile enjoy that all of them are doing individual stuff, it's not like they aren't busy!

My two cents. Having some control over what he does as a solo artist doesn't mean he has more or less power to affect the lives and careers of others. IMO, if Pi had his way, NEWS would probably be touring Asia at the moment. xD;; or maybe he'd be off in NY learning dance.

I believe that if J&A wanted to, they could make a NEWS tour and more group activity happen regardless of who has a drama/movie/concert/musical in the works. They've done it before with other groups and with NEWS. So yes, the fact that they're letting NEWS take a backseat to everything else is definitely worrying.

haha, you're not bugging me at all. I agree with you, when you say LESS is not WORSE. I think we've seen various concepts and songs through NEWS over the years that show their various charm. I don't know SO much about the other Johnny bands, but I'll take your word (and some others that I've read) for it. It seems that the jimusho really really wants financial gain at the moment, therefore it can't be helped that these other bands are releasing below-par music.

I'm all down with the economical issues that Johnny's Ent. may be having at the moment, and yes NEWS concerts are expensive, I just don't understand the exposure side of things for them, there are easily so many things one can do to promote a band and keeping it cost effective (Free hugs in Shibuya?? LOL). I wonder why they haven't done this from the time of their comeback.

With Yamapi being on Heyx3, I guess I was just hurt to see Yamapi continuing on alone (to what it seems like promoting another single). So naturally him being tied in as the leader of a group, I questioned why he wouldn't also do something about everyone else. However as you pointed out, Johnny's leaders aren't known for their leadership, so there goes my train of thought! In the end, solo work is good, but I guess I prefer them working as a group, rather than individually. I hope that their popularity can be compared to Arashi's one day. But for now,I guess waiting won't hurt.

Oh god, I've written so much today, I would fall over laughing if a sudden annoucement of some kind of NEWS activity were to be announced tomorrow :P
