Ok. I'm officially dissapointed.
Don't get me wrong, I love Pi solo work, and the idea of a new release makes me happy, but... what's up with this way of doing things? Argh.

I'm actually disappointed as well. As a leader, Yamapi has the duty to take care of his members, but it seems (from what I have observed) that he's just getting more and more solo work (to the point where it looks like he cannot be bothered with them anymore =/), why not a new NEWS single or a new NEWS concert? Then he can sing his solo songs, do his solo dances; it's really a win win not only for his fans but also for his NEWS fans.

I am a Yamapi fan, but I'm MORE of a NEWS fan but I am quite disappointed at the moment, everything they have released has been really mediocre compared to other J.E groups (and I don't even want to go down the path of comparison, but I can't help it :P). I believe, if they had tried even abit more harder to make fans happy (I dunno caught up in a while for dinner, cos it seems they do that best)or let us know that they still exist as a group, then that would make me more relieved.

For now, Yamapi's words mean nothing to me, I need to see physical evidence. All talk, no do leads to nowhere.

I'm sorry this whole comment had nothing to do with him going on Hey!x3 But since he's going on by himself, hope he's 6x as hilarious to make up for the other members that aren't there with thim.

So, you think it's Yamapi who gets to decide about NEWS activities? ... NOT. Reassuring the fans is pretty much the only thing he can do at the moment and we should be glad he actually did it. That's his way of leting us know NEWS still exists as a group, isn't that what you want?

No I don't think it is up to Yamapi to decide, however he should at least have a good say on behalf of the group. I'm happy for you that you are reassured with just his words, but how about being spectacularly over the moon if he had reassureed us with some evidence of what it is that NEWS will be doing in the future? Especially since he's going on Heyx3 alone, I'm just sad that he can't disclose more information about this.

It's good seeing all these discussions on the comm, it's been so dead lately, so good thing some people can get what they want off their chests because it shows that many of us STILL CARE FOR THEM.

*agree* 100% agree. If a community does not have discussion and information sharing, what's the point of the community. And I am also glad to confirm that I am not the only one who misses them.

I totally agree with you that's good having a discussion and talk about them, we like them and we miss them, why shouldn't we? :)

On the other hand, I don't agree with you in what you're saying about them. Not only a lot of people around here is assuming and getting angry about this appearance in heyx3 without any "physical evidence", but you're saying Yamapi's duty is to be the groups' "mommy" (and we all know that's Koyama's role! XD).

Being a leader in a johnnys group has never been about actual "leading" (I do love the leaders, but none of them are famous for being good at it), excepts when it comes to be responsible for the group's actions (something Yamapi is actually good at). Being reassuring to the fans and making sure we know HE hasn't forgotten about NEWS, even if they have no upcoming projects, is the best he can gives us for now. I WISH it could be more, that management could get out of their asses and get NEWS as NEWS some work, but it looks like their individual management is doing a better job for them than whoever is in charge of the group stuff.

Now, whatever this is about Heyx3, Yamapi was INVITED. Heyx3 is a high profile, popular show and they get a say at who do they want on air. There are a lot of odds reasons why Yamapi was invited without a single announced, and I will stick to those reasons (in the sense that they're odd and we don't know them yet) until we know otherwise, but it's a stretch to think of a single because of this, I think (sadly, I'll be happy with one).

Two more thing and I'll stop bugging you: I do think NEWS is releasing LESS, but not releasing WORSE. Arashi's been releasing crap the last couple of years and we all know it and KAT-TUN have had crappy songs alongside very crappy PVs. They sell MORE, but they don't sell BETTER.

NEWS concerts are expensive and hard to organize, I hope they have one soon enough, but I understand why TegoMass and Yamapi are maybe more convenient right now.

haha, you're not bugging me at all. I agree with you, when you say LESS is not WORSE. I think we've seen various concepts and songs through NEWS over the years that show their various charm. I don't know SO much about the other Johnny bands, but I'll take your word (and some others that I've read) for it. It seems that the jimusho really really wants financial gain at the moment, therefore it can't be helped that these other bands are releasing below-par music.

I'm all down with the economical issues that Johnny's Ent. may be having at the moment, and yes NEWS concerts are expensive, I just don't understand the exposure side of things for them, there are easily so many things one can do to promote a band and keeping it cost effective (Free hugs in Shibuya?? LOL). I wonder why they haven't done this from the time of their comeback.

With Yamapi being on Heyx3, I guess I was just hurt to see Yamapi continuing on alone (to what it seems like promoting another single). So naturally him being tied in as the leader of a group, I questioned why he wouldn't also do something about everyone else. However as you pointed out, Johnny's leaders aren't known for their leadership, so there goes my train of thought! In the end, solo work is good, but I guess I prefer them working as a group, rather than individually. I hope that their popularity can be compared to Arashi's one day. But for now,I guess waiting won't hurt.

Oh god, I've written so much today, I would fall over laughing if a sudden annoucement of some kind of NEWS activity were to be announced tomorrow :P

Yeah, I don't get how the jimusho works either. I feel we fans certainly can come up with a lot of good ideas that shouldn't be too hard to accomplish and somehow what we get is just not good enough, like whoever is in charge can't put two and two together. And that can't be right, can it? these people are trained to do their job, can't they be better than a fan at it?

Still, having individual activities, I think, is a lot better for them in the long run and it could be better for the group if they start showing up again regularly. For us fans, of course, is better to have both. I certainly like both, doing individual work and group work just the same. Yamapi has always had solo work alongside NEWS stuff, so I can't blame HIM for the lack of NEWS and I get frustrated when other people do so. He's allowed to take chances if NEWS is being screwed, *specially* if NEWS is being screwed. That he gets more chances than the others has a lot to do with his ability to be good at his job (in the sense that he's good at making contacts), but he's not powerful enough to go asking about NEWS to management and being *heard* if they don't want to hear him, sadly.

Gods, I will be laughing right there with you if an announcement is made in the next few days! it's hard to see so many fans feeling so down, when NEWS is all about being positive and not giving up :P quoting Tegoshi's word of wisdom, we will just have to BELIEVE! XD

Well, that's the difference, I don't believe he has that say on behalf of the group. What I do think is that he can ask for solo activities when NEWS is doing nothing and he has no filming on his hands (which is, according to his words, how Loveless happened), but does not get to influence much what NEWS is up to. I love NEWS too and would be delighted to see them again, but my point: if you want to blame someone, blame the management, not Yamapi. If NEWS have no activities, they wouldn't have them regardless of Yamapi (Tegomasu, Ryo's solo con long ago) releasing solo or not. In my opinion Yamapi has solo work because NEWS is inactive, not the other way round. Yes, he is the leader, but we all know in JE that doesn't mean much (or anything for that matter). It's not like the future of NEWS is in his hands and he's not personally responsible for it. Talking to the fans is way more than others would do (I didn't see KAT-TUN doing it even before the news of Jin going to LA broke out) and we should appreciate it instead of bashing it. Because it's his way of telling us "NEWS still exist. I believe in NEWS so please, don't give up.". And with the way JE works.. I doubt that even as a "leader" he knows much more about future NEWS activies than other members.
