Schedule...?

Hi, it's my first time posting here, so you probably don't know me. I have a question. :)

Some days ago it has been decided that I'm going to Japan in August! And as a fan of NEWS (and other Johnny's bands...) I would love to take the chance and visit a concert, stage play or so when I am there, since I don't know if I ever have the chance to go again... So I'm wondering if there is any chance for NEWS to have a concert in August, and how long in advance Johnny's Entertainment usually announces concerts and stage plays. People urge me to book the hotels as early as possible and schedule my trip, so concerts/stage plays would be an important factor for my travel.
So, can anyone help me there? Maybe tell me what the latest date for announcemens might be for August?

I hope someone experienced can help me.

Tegomasu are going on tour in June. This has been announced in February.
If NEWS have concerts in August, I think it would have been already announced...
Chances of them having concerts this summer is low. :/

yeah I highly doubt NewS will have any concerts in August. I wish!
I saw NewS at Tokyo Dome Dec. 2008. They haven't. They are so good in concert! ^^

I don't know if they will even tour this year... (since they didn't last year...)

but if they do go on tour this year, it'll probably be starting in October...

It's quite unlikely that NEWS will be touring in August. I think if they do have a tour this year, it'll be a winter one.

Stage plays...about 1~2 months in advance. So you can keep a lookout for any possible butai announcements in June :)

NEWS's tours are usually during the winters. Since they skipped out on this winter, I was hoping for a spring con (I'm in Japan until mid August), but since that didn't happen, but the Tegomass con did, I don't think there's such a good chance for a summer con. Summer cons would have all been announced by now. I'm thinking maybe October/November for a con + album release to set them on a similar track again. I also really wanted to see NEWS in person, but chances are slim! Sorry!

If anything, there's always the nice shops in Harajuku to hit up! :) Those are ALWAYS a joy for the first time! Or a KAT-TUN con? Haha.

I'll prolly be in Japan in July/Aug as well (first time in Japan! :X) and I really wanted to see NEWS too but :( Bad luck this time eh?

Okay, thank you! So I can assume that there are are no chances of concerts in August - except KAT-TUN, which I can't go to, yes? (Do you know if that only counts for JE or also for any other band?)
I'll watch out for stage plays then! Those are easier to plan into schedule spontanuously, anyway. Since they usually aren't in smaller cities with very far travels from Tokyo or Osaka. :)
If I don't go to cons, there is more money for goods from Harajuku & so on, so I'll just see it positively :D

As i know....usually in August there's always ARASHI's concert...because they celebrate their anniversary in August and Jun's Birthday...but this year maybe you can try KATTUN...they will be tour around asia....

Is anyone familiar with how JE concerts + stage play ticket sales work? I've heard that JE raffles off concert tickets within their fanclubs and that it's not possible to join their clubs unless you have a permanent Japan address? Even to be in the audiences of their variety shows.
I'm dying to go to an Arashi concert. Hoping to visit Japan this July/Aug…

Yes, you're right. There is a lottery within the Fanclub, and a limited number of tickets, but they are usually sold out very soon. There are pages like ticket.co.jp, yahoo! auctions and similar, where people sell their tickets. But be prepared to pay a lot of money. The prices can go very very high.

But if it's true what people here said, then it looks bad for any concerts in July/August... :/

JE is so popular right now that even FC members cant get tickets... plus there are those scalpers that are in the FC just to resell the tix on online sites or infront of the venue for more money.

your best bet will be through ticket.co.jp or Yahoo Auction... but be prepared to pay anywhere from 8 to 10 times the face value.
