It's been really hard keeping this a secret, since it wasn't allowed to be spread elsewhere than the Swedish JE-forum Cherish, but apparently it's official now :D
(my translation isn't great, oh well..hope you understand XD)

------------

"On November 15th Tegoshi and Masuda from NewS, under the name TegoMass, are going to release a CD, titled Miso Soup, in Sweden. When the CD is released TegoMass are coming to visit Stockholm to greet Swedish fans and appear in Swedish media.

CD
The Swedish release will be in English. The Japanese version will be released in Japan in the beginning of December. The Swedish edition will also have it's own cover. For the first time in history the traditional Swedish instrument keyed fiddle be played in a international popsong.

VISITING SWEDEN
Tegoshi and Masuda are coming to visit Stockholm between the 14th to 16th of November. They are going to appear in Swedish television, and do magazine interviews. TegoMass are also going to appear on a press and fanevent in Stockholm the 15th of November."

Those who wants to go to the event and get regular updates or want to know more can e-mail Marita Lindqvist at:
brioster-at-gmail-dot-com

------------

My thoughts; Now that it's official I'm seriously dying here hah ^^"
It's good it took a couple of weeks for it to be official announced, I wouldn't be able to make a proper update about it here, cos the first week I was all "O______O; ...ZOMFGTHEYARECOMINGHEREWUTWUT!!!"

Oh and since it wasn't in the announcement, it's probably released in Sweden because the song is produced by Stefan Åberg (once again a Swede) and Shusui.

I'm gonna be honest and say I've already told some of my friends, and all of them have asked me to get the single for them. So I'll probably buy a bunch while I'm in Stockholm, so for those who want please tell me so I know a little bit about how many I need to buy XD

EDIT: Some of you seem to think it's just a rumour, but it's not. Since I got this information from Marita Lindqvist, a Swedish journalist who's a huge fan of Johnnys Entertainment. She even wrote a Swedish book about it called Kawaii. I assume she knows it because she's in touch with Johnnys.

And a lot of people ask "Why Sweden?"..
Well you do know how many songs Swedes produced for Johnnys, right?
And they're just doing this as a fun thing really.

The fans in Japan still don't know this, they're going to announce it later, that's why there's no japanese announcements about it yet.

Tegoshi will be there? OMG, I think I have to take a ship over the gulf to see him. It's pretty cheap too, so maybe if I can I'll come. Wow... for real, Tegoshi~~ n________n

I'm really excited for Tego and Massu, together they are a wonderful duet. However them singing English is my only worry since I've heard Tego singing 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight' he made a good attempt at English. Plus I've never heard Massu sing in English before. It will be interesting to see how they do.

Ugh, I hate to be the naysayer, but something about this still isn't ringing true to me. I don't know, it just seems entirely too sudden and far too random. Why Sweden? Wouldn't they have more success in Taiwan, or China?

I mean, I won't mind if it's true, but there's a part of me that is actually hoping that it won't happen. Ugh, I know that's really horrible. I'm just really nervous about anymore NEWS boys getting solo/duo projects because I know that a lot of popularity could mean a permanent change, and I don't want that at all.

I just want NEWS. I don't mind if that means waiting a little while longer to hear their voices.

If it is true . . . I'm not going to have any money. I wonder if this CD is catalogued at Amazon Japan yet.
Thursday, October 5th, 2006 06:21 pm (UTC)
I was kind of thinking the same. Ehhh, all of a sudden Sweden? Are they that known in Sweden yet? But then again, it might be true. I dunno.

It's nice info to hear though. SUSHI ^_____^

I know that a lot of popularity could mean a permanent change, and I don't want that at all.
That may not be the case if you look at Shuji to Akira. A HUGE success there, but Wrinkle-san put an end to them after a period after NwP. Don't worry too much ne? =]] 'cause you're gonna start making me worry lol

And as of right now...Pipi's giving me the impression that he's going to have a solo concert coming up O.O;; dunno it's just a feeling..since a lot of idols are having solo concerts, so not as if it's impossible for Pipi to have a solo concert, no? AHHH~ dunno, just ignore what i said.

OMG FOR REALZ? Sweden is kinda random. But if its true, well congrats to Sweden fans. I want NewS to be back...but TegoMass(LOL is that a new religion?) has to sing. I mean, that's what they're really good at. The acting is pretty ok, with EmoTego, but singing is their specialty. If NewS is gonna be on hiatus for a LONG time then it's such a waste of their singing chops.

Ok I really don't know.

But LOL at Miso Soup anyway~ XD

Thursday, October 5th, 2006 08:18 pm (UTC)
I'm totally taking the boat over to Sweden. TOTALLY.
Thursday, October 5th, 2006 08:24 pm (UTC)
o_O I didn't even know that there were fans in sweden. It really doesn't make since to me either considering they probably have a lot more fans in other asian countries.. I would think that JE would want to take over Asia before they try Europe.
Thursday, October 5th, 2006 08:42 pm (UTC)
I think it's more a case of targeting, in a very limited way, a potential market in terms of music _taste_ rather than a certain set of fans. Even if there are many _fans_ in other Asian countries, fans alone won't provide sufficient sales (even in Japan). The release needs to suit the tastes of the 'general public', and I've long said that jpop of the JE variety _should_ work very well in Sweden, especially since much of the sound _originated_ here. From what I've heard, other Asian countries are generally into other types of music, most notably RnB.

Besides, this _appears_ to be the result of lobbying from influential Swedish fans _and_ the writers of the song in question. We'll just have to wait for all the facts. :)

おめでとうでございます!!!!
