Sorashige Book (3 Sep)
- Shige started off talking about how 24hr TV had finished, but since Shige was filming this in advance he didn’t know who the runner was yet. He said it felt like time traveling since everyone listening already knows. He also mentioned how he had talked about FUJIROCK last time and mentioned that he had wanted to try to go to Summer Sonic (SS) too.
- The first message was from a listener asking Shige to share his recommended SS schedule.
  
  Shige said that he went to SS the night of Friday August 18th, stayed somewhere nearby that night, stayed until the night of the next day before going home. He didn’t go to the festival on the 20th because practice for his play was starting soon and he wanted to get mentally prepared. He said it felt that his summer was ending, and this summer was the summer of festivals. He wants to also talking about finishing tune sometime soon, this time he’ll talk about SS.

- For this weeks music club corner, Shige talked a lot about SS. He talked about the acts he saw including Perfume, JUSTICE, Liam Gallagher, the lead singer of Oasis. He talked about how Liam Gallagher sang some of Oasis’s songs like ‘Wonderwall’ and how it was really good and made him want to learn it on the guitar. He went with the same friend he went to FUJIROCK with and on the 18th they stayed at the festival until 3am before heading back to their hotel. Even after returning to their hotel they were pumped up and ended up staying up later still, so they ended up sleeping until past noon the next day.
  
  He said he also ended up seeing a female hip hop group called chelmico about part way through. He’d heard of them before because a video site had recommended it to him, and he’d randomly played their stuff. He said it probably recommended it to him because they had appeared in the music video ‘Watashi no Sukina Mono’ by the group Lovely Summer and he likes female vocalist groups. He said their performance was a lot of fun and amazing. He said he hopes that they get more attention in the future.
  
  He talked a bit more about them. They’re a rap duo, and they released an EP called ‘EP’ right before SS and he decided to play a song from that. He played the song ‘Highlight’.
- For the next segment Shige continued to talk about SS and after seeing chelmico he went to see HYUKOH, and they were great even though he could only go for about 30 minutes. Even though his friends didn’t know much about either groups they said that they were both good. HYUKOH did their MC in Korean since they can’t speak Japanese. After that the spent time resting and moving from place to place since they were still tired from the day before. However they ended up not making it in time for a performance he wanted to see and was upset with himself for missing it. But from there they saw Suchmos, Blood Orange, and Phoenix. He said they were all really good, and that there were songs by Phoenix he had really wanted to hear such as ‘Ti Amo’ and their song from the movie Lost in Translation, but really wanted to see Calvin Harris from the beginning of his set so they had to go, but as they were leaving Phoenix started to play the song he’d wanted to hear and he wished he had seen their whole performance. On the way home he listened to their new song.
  
  This summer made him realize all over again how great music is and made him want to hold a concert again and made him think about songwriting and concert planning. He wants to be able to go every year if he can fit it in his schedule. He said he’ll talk more about it next week, as it was time to read another message.
- The next message was from a listener who sent in their thoughts on Shige’s performance of ‘Ayame’ on ‘Inochi no Uta’, praising his performance and the changes Shige made from the concert performance.
  
  Shige said that although he got a lot of messages about the performance and about ‘Inochi no Uta’ overall he only had time to read one, but it made him really happy. He said that when they talked about ending the program with his solo, with ‘Ayame’, he was so surprised and even now it feels like it was just a prank. He said he is really grateful for all the love ‘Ayame’ and the program has gotten and for how it seems to resonate with people. He hopes that watching the program brought more people to think about peace, and he’ll talk more about this topic next week.

- The guest this week was Tegoshi again
- K: Good evening, this is NEWS’ Koyama Keiichiro. Today’s guest is Tegoshi Yuya-kun. T: Hello! This is Goshite Yayu!
- The first message was from a listener who said that they recently saw Takada Junji on TV for the first time and they were shocked because of how Tegoshi is often teased that he resembles him. They asked Koyama and Tegoshi who are they happy to be compared to. They added that they often get told that they resemble Koyama which makes them happy.
  
  Koyama said that Tegoshi really is similar to Takada Junji as well as Okada Keisuke. He also brought up Tegoshi’s recent ItteQ appearance in Vietnam, where he had a bit called ‘Tego Sanpo’, which was a parody of Okada Junji’s TV show ‘Jun Sanpo’ saying that it was really funny. He also said that Tegoshi was awfully random about what he said, as always. Tegoshi said that there’s no script at all for ItteQ so he just randomly talks nonstop, he said it’s good as long as it looks like he’s having fun, same with Okada and Takada. Tegoshi said that he doesn’t dislike being told he resembles them, or anyone, and that he recently has been told that he resembles Justin Bieber regard the way he lives his life. K: Tegotin Bieber T: I don’t hate it.
  
  Koyama said that Tegosh is his own genre now, rather than Tegoshi resembling someone else he’s just Tegoshi Yuya and that the number of people who are told that they resemble Tegoshi must be increasing. While Okada and Takada are Tegoshi-like, they don’t have the idol part of Tegoshi.
  
  K: I wonder who I resemble. But when I drink alcohol, I’m told that I get excited and become like Tegoshi. T: Why! (laughing) K: Well we have mutual friends right? Male friends. So they’ve seen you when you get drunk. And, I don’t really know- I don’t really remember, but they say that I start to act like Tegoshi. So, they said that when the two of us are together it’s really annoying. Everyone says this. So, I think Tegoshi’s rubbing off on me. At the beginning Tegoshi is really cool, but as he gets drunker he starts pulling out martial arts moves. Like grabbing necks… Yeah, grabbing my neck and making me drink. T: Yeah, no matter how important the person is, even the company president, I’ll do it. (laughing) K: Yeah, and then later in the evening you french kiss me. T: I don’t normally do that. K: You do it to me. What’s with that. T: What is with that. K: It’s pretty crazy. You grab my neck and say ‘Hey, stick out your tongue’. K: Well, let’s go on to the song. (laughing)
- ♪ Wonderland ♪
- The next message was from a listener who said that they have sensitive ears. Recently they went a hair salon and when they were getting shampooed and the stylist touched around their ears it tickled so much that they jumped and it was embarrassing. Koyama’s said on the radio in the past that his ears are sensitive too, so she wanted to know if he had any coping methods or ways to hide it.
  
  Koyama asked Tegoshi if he also had sensitive ears and he said that he didn’t think so, that they were probably just normal because he doesn’t mind at all when the stylist touches around his ears. Koyama said that he’s like the listener and it makes him jump and even involuntarily go ‘Ah!’. Koyama commented that Tegoshi has sensitive nipples though, and then quickly apologized saying he wasn’t trying to take the conversation in a weird direction, sometimes they touch them to be funny.
  
  They reassured the listener that she shouldn’t worry about it, and that it’s cute for girls to have sensitive ears. Tegoshi teased that if he were a hair stylist he would spend extra time wiping around her ears and Koyama yelled at him to stop.
- The next message was from a listener who said that when she went to karaoke with her friend, the friend was on their phone when she was singing, which made her feel like maybe she got bored. She wanted to know what they do and don’t like girls doing at karaoke.
  
  They both agreed that whether it’s a boy or girl, they don’t like it when other people are on their phones when they’re at karaoke. Tegoshi said that he tries not to be on his phone when his friends are singing. As for what they like, that said it’s good when others are into when they’re singing or sing along with them, or ask them to sing something together.
- The next message was from a listener who said that they tend to toss and turn when they sleep and wanted to know how to stop doing it.
  
  Koyama asked Tegoshi how it is for him, and he said that he didn’t know cause he lives alone, but that since he was young he’s been told that he has a habit of intertwining his legs. For instance, when he would go on overnight soccer training camps, and in his sleep he would often end up sticking his leg between the guy’s sleeping next to him. Even now during meetings, or as Koyama added in the car when they’re coming to work, Tegoshi will have something in between his legs. Koyama said that sleeps facing up with his arms above his head and Tegoshi commented that it was like T.M. Revolutions’ Nishikawa. Tegoshi said he’s always on either his left or right side holding a body pillow and with it between his legs.
- ♪ ONE -for the win- ♪
- Last, Koyama said that since they got a lot of requests for advice from Tegoshi they’re extending the ‘Solving your problems summer time’ segment.
  
  The message was from a listener who works at a convenience store, and they said that they hate when couples come up to the register and then flirtily argue about who will pay. They just want them to hurry up and pay, and wanted to know if they were weird for feeling that way.
  
  Tegoshi said that he’s in the camp of being ok with PDA, and wondered if the listener is the type to not flirt when she’s dating someone. Koyama said that they probably would, but it was more about the time and location. Tegoshi said that being irritated would just wear them out, so it’s better for them to just try not to care.
  
  Koyama asked Tegoshi where he would be ok doing PDA, asking about movie theaters, parks, and train stations and Tegoshi said he was fine with all of them. Tegoshi said it’s to the point where he would want to kiss them once a minute and stay glued to their side. He explained that it’s rare for him to like someone, but once he does he falls hard, and since you have a limited number of chances to fall in love you should take advantage of it.

Tegomass no Radio (6 Sep)
- At the opening, they discussed how the summer holidays have ended for the students, and it’s probably now the time for those taking entrance exams this year to work hard. They probably didn’t manage to spend much time playing during the summer holidays either. Massu shared how someone he knows has a child taking the exams this year, and they didn’t manage to travel this year too as it’s an important time for the child.
- For the request this week, it’s for Tegomass’ “Time Machine”. The listener wrote that when she was in high school, she liked her best friend. But as she was afraid that the relationship will be ruined if she confessed, she never did. Even till today, they call each other almost everyday, and she still feels she really likes him, but he is already in preparations for his wedding. (T: EHHHHHH! M: Wah.) She knows she should move on, but it’s hard. (M: Hmm. T: EHHHHHHH!) She’s full of regrets everyday, thinking she should have told him her feelings then. (M: Hmm. T: No way.) Then, she listened to “Time Machine” and couldn’t stop crying. The lyrics and Tegomass’ singing gave her the courage to move on. (M: I see~) She will bid goodbye to her childish self, and hope they will play the song that gave her the push on her back. They said this must be painful, and Massu wondered how far into preparations the friend was. Tegoshi said they’ve probably met each other’s parents, might even have looked at wedding venues and all already. That they’re still calling each other almost everyday means the friend has looked beyond the fact that she’s female and treats her as a really good friend. (M: Which means she’s probably met the girlfriend. T, Sakura: That’s possible.) Massu said if not the wife-to-be will be upset, wouldn’t she? That there’s some female the boyfriend calls everyday. Tegoshi said she might even suspect him of having an affair. They said this is really sad. Tegoshi said she should have just gone for an attack, even just once. Because this is how things end up, when she doesn’t. If she had tried even once, but failed, then she would have been able to give up, because that’s how people are. But not having even tried makes it hardest to move on, isn’t it. (T: Well, at least that’s how I see it.) She might be the one preparing for the wedding with him now, if she had confessed then. (T: Ah this is sad. “Time Machine” is really the perfect song.) Massu popped in to say that she’ll be able to find a better love. Tegoshi said as the best friend, she would probably want to be able to wish them the best too. Massu said to take this song on an encouraging note, and they played the song.
- ♪ Time Machine ♪
- The next listener says she’s learning cheerleading, and needs to do things like backflips, roundoff backflips and so on. As she is afraid of jumping backwards, she can’t jump very high, her arms get curved, and she fails. Everyone tells her it just takes time to get used to it, but is that really true. Please give her some advice. They threw the question to Sakura. She said when she gets scared, she puts the strength at her abdominal area, and that helps her land properly. Tegoshi said the listener mentioned it’s the fear that causes her to fail, so what should she do about that. Sakura said it’s best to have stronger faith in herself. (M: This was probably just advice for being an announcer!) Sakura said to she can’t even do a backward roll, and asked if they can. Massu said as they can’t see what’s behind, it’s usual for people to be scared about having to do backflips. So it does end up being something you just have to get used to. Tegoshi said as he didn’t have the backdancing experience, backflips was something he wanted to be able to do and tried during rehearsals for NEWS. But he thought it was something he will never be able to do if he wasn’t pumped up enough, so he got people to blast his favourite songs, and went like “LET’S GO!” because if he was calm there’s no way he could do it. M: Well, so for this concert, when Tegoshi appeared at the centre stage on the bed, and went “Iiiiii-KEEEEE” (Massu said this in a really horrible high pitched voice), he might have just been able to do a backflip then. T: Nononono… I’ll probably get hit on my head while saying “I’m coming” or something. (studio bursts into laughter) T: And go over to the other side, like, get summoned by the people in the heavens. The concert will just end there. Sakura: I’d have wanted to see this novel side of Tegoshi! T: No the concert will just end there. Scary x3. They then went back to the cheerleading conversation, and said she must have good reflexes to be doing cheerleading. Massu suggested having people support her in a safe environment, and just do lots of it. It wouldn’t be good to practise when she’s scared or in a dangerous way, and she needs to slowly ease herself into it. Sakura asked if it isn’t possible to backflip while being scared, and they said while it isn’t impossible, when you’re scared, the form won’t be good, and even if you do manage to land it was likely in a semi backflip, and that’s dangerous. They then shared the story of Massu turning up at a rehearsal for one of the concerts (M: Was it for Seishun? T: Mahou or something), with a fracture from his gymnastic class. He hasn’t done any backflips since. (M: Noooope never. T: HAHAHAHAHA. That was probably a minor trauma, wasn’t it. M: It wasn’t minor. T: HAHHAHHA.) Apparently he was trying to do a roundoff backflip, backflip, backflip, and then he got his arm fractured. So anyway, what he’s trying to say was because he’s went through that and got scared, they hope the same doesn’t happen to her. If she can’t do it, she can’t, so just keep practising till she can. Tegoshi said gymnasts are amazing because they must have gotten injured many times along the way, but they still continue at it. (M: I don’t think I can ever do it again. T: Well, so please do your best, for Massu too! Sakura: Please!)
- The following listener shared a story of when she was in a haunted house. She went there on a date with the person she had a crush on (M: EH! T: Isn’t that the best? M: Is it going to be a story of the crush not coming out from the haunted house in the end? Sakura: Masuda-san. M: How’s that? Wouldn’t that be scary? T: That’s scary… Sakura: It’s not. Not that kind of story. T: Walking Dead. M: Biohazard!) Sakura tried to continue the story, saying the two of moved forward while shaking. (T: So they must have been sticking together really tight! M: Ah, with her crush? Stuck together? Sakura: Yes, holding on to her crush… M: AHHHH this is scary. She’s speaking fondly of her love story! It’s THAT kind of scary! No wonder I’d felt that this fear the moment the story started! Sakura: Nope, totally wrong. M: Eh? Tell me.) So two middle school girls caught up with them, and they told the two girls to go ahead first. But they said nope, let’s all go together! They rejected them a few times, but they refused, and before she knew it, the crush was at the very front, the two girls in between (T: HUR HUR HUR) and she was at the very end (T: That’s horrible! M: I see. T: No way! M: That’s interesting). As the two girls were in between, she couldn’t see him, and halfway through she was left alone. In the end, she reached the goal with most of the time spent alone inside the house, and the two girls just left as if nothing happened. (T: hahahhaha) She was sad that such a rare date simply ended like that. What should she have told those two middle school girls? (M: I see. Interesting. T: How old is she? In her teens? Sakura: Nope. In her late twenties) They commented that the two middle school girls were amusing. Massu said that they are just like Tegoshi, having a strong mental mind but scared when it comes to haunted houses. Tegoshi protested saying he knows how to read situations. M, Sakura: HAHAHAHA. T: I mean, it’s obvious. M: Ah, that the couple is having a date in the haunted house? T: Yeah yeah, it’s obvious, so I’ll definitely not go between them, no matter how scared I am. Sakura: Hahaha. M: Serious? You can tell? T: I can! “Air-reading” is what I am good at. Really good. Really good. M: I thought you will go between them. T: No I won’t I won’t. Even though I understand how they feel. Sakura and Massu said Tegoshi feels like the type who’d go “This sucks this sucks”, “Who cares about the date” and like grab on to the girlfriend even or something. They said it’s hard to deal with such situations, especially since the couple has already tried rejecting them a few times. Massu said that it’s a nice memory, as in it’s not just a memory when they went in together, get scared, and that’s all. So take it positively, and they can look back at it again when they get together. Tegoshi said it can’t be helped since the girls are still in middle school and probably aren’t that experienced with love and all that. Massu shared an episode when he was eating, and there was a child and probably the grandmother at the next table. The child was really excited, but rather than asking the child to keep quiet, the grandmother said things along the line of, “xx-chan is still very much a child, aren’t you.” The kid replied, “Yeap, I’m still a kid!” And that was super cute. Sakura laughed, but Tegoshi didn’t have much of a reaction, so Massu asked why. Tegoshi said, it’s a story that brings a smile, but has nothing to do with the haunted house, nor relationship issues. Sakura thought he would try to bring the story back to the listener’s mail, like say “Since she’s an adult and all”, (T: Me too!) but….hmm? M: Yeah yeah, like “I’m an adult”, and so I shouldn’t get angry, but should be like the grandmother and… T: That’s just forcing things through! It’s too late. M: Okay. Please close this section. T, Sakura: HAHAHAHAHA. T: This is terrible. To try to close this section without having even driven the programme forward is so mediocre. Sakura: Yeah mediocre. T: Yeap, so we’re looking forward to your emails (continues reading the usual lines while Sakura and Massu mumbled about how he could have said a bit more to end this better) T: This segment is over. Over. M: Sorry. T: All finished! (gets faded off).
- For the quiz segment, the first question was on departmental stores. On rainy days, the staff will put a plastic cover over the paper bags, but how do they know when it is raining, or when the rain has stopped? M: (immediately) Music is played right? Yeah. Next? Sakura: That’s correct.... T: Eh? Wait? Eh? I haven’t even gotten myself at the starting line and my competitor has already reached the goal. What should I do now? Sakura: That’s too bad Tegoshi-san. M: Okay finished. Next~ Fufufu. T: No no no...wh-wh-what about the music? Sakura: It seems that there are predetermined tracks to let the staff know. It depends on the departmental store, but for example, when it starts raining, they play “Ame ni Utaeba” (”“Singin’ in the Rain”). T: Eh? So the music changes? M: No, for example (hums a short melody) this gets played whenever it starts raining. It’s all predetermined, at each departmental store. T: Heh~ Why do you know this? M: Well, I’m from the departmental store. (slight stir in the studio) AH! I’m sorry. It’s because I go very often. T: I don’t go at all! M: This is not even a quiz or anything, it’s an everyday kind of question. They even double the points for you and all. T: Well, because this was so short, shall we just cut this bit off? Sakura: Let’s cut it. M: No no, it’s a place you can go anytime! On rainy days, you get double the points on your members’ card and all. So please go on a rainy day! Sakura: As expected of Massu.
- The next listener wrote in to say she is studying to become a dental hygienist, and often gets asked what the difference between a dental hygienist and a dental assistant is. So the question is, while it is necessary for a dental hygienist to obtain a national license, what is the determining difference between a dental hygienist and a dental- T: (interrupts Sakura midway) OKAY! Sakura: Yes, Tegoshi-san. T: Whether or not they can perform tooth extraction. Sakura: That’s incorrect. M: Whether or not they can perform treatments? Sakura: Hmmmm...a bit more. M: A dental hygienist can only do cleaning? T: Isn’t that for a dental assistant? M: A dental hygienist...Eh? A dental assistant...Hmm? One of them can probably only help with the cleaning. Sakura: Wrong. T: OKAY OKAY I GET IT! Sakura: Go ahead. T: Decisions! Sakura: Decisions?? M: Huh? Huh? T: Like, they can do everything, like cleaning and all, but decisions such as whether or not to extract the tooth, can only be made by a dental hygienist. M: Tegoshi-san, HUH? T: Eh, wrong? Sakura: Wrong. It’s something at an earlier stage. M: Like whether or not they wear masks? They took quite a while more before plus quite a bit of rubbish talk on the entire process of what happens when they go to the dentist. Finally Massu got it right, in that it is the inside of a patient’s mouth that a dental hygienist can get into contact with, but an assistant can’t. (T: What is this! What the heck is this!) They continued arguing a little saying it doesn’t make sense, and how not being able to touch the mouth equates not being able to give treatment isn’t it. When trying to decide the results for the day, Tegoshi and Sakura went back to saying, “But the departmental store part doesn’t count right?” M: Why? It’s common sense! T: It’s strange! It’s like asking how long a soccer match is, 90 minutes! Along that level. M: Why is that! T: Well, people unfamiliar with soccer wouldn’t know, like how I don’t go to the departmental stores. M: But there are probably more people who go to the departmental stores than people who play soccer. (continues arguing a while more) Sakura: Here he goes. This guy is really a jerk who hates to lose. T: Darn it. I can’t accept this double loss. M: (in a weird high pitched voice) And that was the “Quiz! Tegomass ni Oshiete” corner! T: (in the background) Ah, ah, ah, ah…
- They talked a little more about the day’s recording, how Tegoshi still can’t get over losing, how Massu is slowly gaining ground, and how Tegoshi actually stood up. Tegoshi got to choose who to give the pen to this week, so T: That departmental store question? There was no way I could have known, so… I’LL GIVE IT TO YOUUUU~ M: HOW NICE~~~~ It was the usual noisy ending, with Tegoshi complaining Sakura was too slow and they had to wait for her. Sakura said this is the most important part, and if no mails come at all, that’s it, BAM! The programme’s finished! M: (in a cute voice) Oh no… send us mails please! Sakura: (fiercely) Acting cute doesn’t work! T: (cute voice) We want to continue~ Sakura: No sobbing too! M: (loud and cute voice) MA~~~~ILS PLEASE!!!!! T, Sakura: HAHAHHAHAA. T: That made me tired. M: Yeah. My throat hurts. T: HAHAHA. So I guess when we have concerts we need to get time off, since this affects our throats. Sakura: No! M: Sakuradio! Sakuradio is good, isn’t it. Sakura: That won’t be fun. They did the ending, and Massu went back to his annoying loud voice with BYEBYE!!!

Masuda Takahisa no Master Hits (8 Sep)
- At the opening, he talked about how he’s been talking about decluttering in a lot of interviews these days. So he’s now considering not hanging his jackets and shirts on the hanger rack. Though jackets will probably need to be there, but for just one of the racks, he thought he’d try drying his pants there for a change. So he went to buy pants hangers, and thought it’d be nice to have the same hangers for the pants. But he couldn’t find enough of the same ones even after going to a few shops. They had 10 at the maximum, while he was looking for maybe 20~30. So he bought a few different variations but there are still a few things he is concerned about. Like how the clothes pegs end up at different positions for different hangers, how some hangers don’t work for some clothes, like jeans, and there doesn’t seem to be one hanger that works for everything. He isn’t sure what makes a good hanger for pants, and what really bothers him most is how they don’t hang at the same height on the rack. He says he’s got quite a few types of hangers, like those he bought himself, those he received from the shops and all, but the ideal case will be having the same hangers for everything. But anyway, he’s glad to have new hangers for his pants, and will continue thinking about the hangers.

- The first listener asked what dish made of fish Massu likes best. He said that this is a really wide question. He likes grilled atka mackerel, grilled pacific saury, grilled yellowtail… If sushi counts as fish dishes, he likes them, and also sand smelt tempura, young sweetfish and all. If he had to choose, he would choose tuna and pickle sushi rolls.
- The second listener asked if Massu calls birthday presents (tanjoubi purezento) short as “TanPure”. She said that he doesn’t seem to like short forms, and wanted to know if he refers to birthday presents that way. He said that the idea of “he doesn’t seem to like short forms” seem to have been conveyed, and that’s exactly it. Like it already gets to him how birthday presents are “TanPure”. WHY do people have to shorten it that way? He doesn’t get it. (M: They seem to want to shorten everything these days, these youngsters. How did this even start? They just want to shorten whatever they can) He mentioned how he hated how some people were referring to the “NEVERLAND tour” as “Neverland”, even the juniors. Like, “Neverland was fun” and he’d think, “Don’t shorten it!” He went back a bit to the “TanPure”, like did they think talking about the birthday present is a waste of time? But while he always talks about how he doesn’t like short forms, he’s part of a group called “Tegomass” and that kills all the conviction from his argument. So it’s hard for him to reject short forms. (M: Let’s just go with short forms! Fufu. I’ll leave the decision up to you.)
- The third listener asked how Massu ties his shoelaces. He replied that he strings them from outside the holes. For leather shoes, he strings the lace through one side, and goes round and round… (M: This is hard to convey through radio...) He tried to explain again, and concluded that people who’ve seen this way of tying laces might get it already, and those who haven’t might still be like, “Huh?”. But this is a stylish way of tying laces for leather shoes and all, though it’s hard to loosen them.
